Cooke City and Silver Gate Montana is the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Visitors will drive here via U.S. Route 212, the spectacular Beartooth Highway. The closest airports are Cody, Wyoming (YRA) and Billings, Montana (BIL). The Northeast Entrance is open all year to Cooke City but the Beartooth Hwy is closed in winter from mid-October to late-May.
