4 arm clothing rack
Retail clothing racks are something the average consumer doesn't think about. Retailers will spare no expense with the design and layout of their new or upgraded store property. Yet what is quite common, even in some of the finest stores, are cheap metal-tubed clothing racks. Is the store management is trying to give the illusion of a 'fire sale" or discount items rack? In fact, in our eyes, it represents a lower quality or items that are hard to sell.

Here's where HardwoodFixtures.com can add some distinction and character to your store. Have you ever visited or spent some time at a custom mountain lodge or vacation home? The first (and last) impression is the hardwood furniture or hardwood flooring and fixtures. Your customers will notice these details the moment they walk in and long after they're gone.

Wood furniture, fixtures and, displays come in a wide variety of lumber species. The more expensive the wood, the more expensive the end product while labor costs remain the same. Typical lumber prices from highest to lowest are Exotics (rare species), Hardwoods (domestic), Softwoods and Plywoods. When researching retail wood fixtures or displays, note the quality of the wood. Most often you will find (in small print) that it is made out of plywood and veneer or some softwood like pine. This is quite common when a company sells a "wooden" fixture. Be sure the fixture is made entirely of solid hardwood if that's what you desire.

Most wood fixtures and displays made overseas are plywood overlaid with a thin layer (1/16") of hardwood veneer or the "solid" oak or maple hardwood is such a thin layer, the fixture structure is compromised. Another wood product becoming popular is reclaimed lumber. The only advantage to using reclaimed lumber is the enviromental aspect of reusing lumber. This is a great philosophy, however, it only makes a difference in volume (large projects). Quite often reclaimed lumber is more expensive than hardwood. We use hardwoods in such small quantities that a one year inventory is less than a typical hardwood flooring in an average home.

Here is a checklist when researching wood fixtures and displays.

1. Where is it made? Self-explanatory,

2. What is it made of? Hardwood (oak, maple), softwood (pine) or plywood veneer. Keep in mind there are many furniture makers that will claim, their furniture is made of oak or maple when in reality it's made of plywood veneer with some partial strips of hardwood.
3. What is the thickness of the wood? Many overseas wood fixtures have to contain their shipping cost so their product may be 'solid' hardwood but is much thinner in design.
4. Is the product in stock? When is it available? Many custom furniture makers and wood fixture companies build to order. At Hardwoodfixtures.com, we strive to keep the most popular products in stock or typically, at most, 1 week from order to shipment.

3 Arm Clothing Rack knock down

One of our hallmarks at Hardwoodfixtures.com is our knock down modular design which enables ease of assembly, availability and reduced shipping costs. A typical clothing rack is reduced down to less than 36" in overall length, yet due to our construction design, easily assembles in minutes to 65" or more.
